Balsamroot Roasters was started in 2021 with the goal of providing the Lander community with locally roasted and ethically sourced coffee.
Our coffee is roasted in small batches and on demand. We aim to showcase the vast character of different coffees while still being approachable.
Maybe! Like other crops, coffee is seasonal. We buy beans that have recently been harvested. Once we run out of a specific origin, we might not be able to get it again until the following year. And even then, coffee from different harvests can have drastically different profiles.
The vast majority of our coffee is certified organic! We occasionally might purchase a non-organic coffee from a small farm if we believe in the product.
We currently only sell whole bean coffee. We hope to offer ground coffee soon!
We currently source our coffee from a few trusted suppliers. We do our best to only purchase coffee that has been source at fair trade or better prices.
We use a fluid bed roaster. It roasts the coffee by suspending it on a bed of hot air. This form of roasting is clean and very energy efficient.
We are currently roasting from our home. We operate under the Wyoming Food Freedom act.
Currently we are only offering local pickup. We may offer local delivery and shipping outside of Lander in the future.
